Obituary for Carlos Horacio Nevarez Marquez

Carlos Horacio Nevarez Marquez, 45 of Colorado Springs went to be with the Lord January 22, 2023. Carlos was born December 18, 1977 in Pena Blanca, Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisco and Maria Nevarez. Carlos moved with his family to Rock Springs Wyoming when he was 3 and resided in Ft. Collins until he was an adult. Carlos graduated from Glen Mills Academy in Pennsylvania. Carlos loved working with Electronics and worked for many years at Sparton Medical in Frederick, NeoTech in Longmont and was currently working at Insight Analytical Labs as an Electronics Technician while doing side jobs and working on cars and small electronics.
Carlos had a love of boxing from a young age, he medaled bronze in 1993 at the Junior Olympics and in the same year took a Silver Medal at the Silver Gloves. He turned his dream into reality after over 80+ armature fights and turning pro in 1996, he was known as El Matador and was true to his name. His boxing career was such a joy, passion and love that he maintained his whole life. He retired his boxing career in 2008 to spend time with this children and family. He married Natasha Rangel in 2002 (2018) and they raised their children together in the Frederick area. He blossomed into an amazing coach himself working in gyms around the Longmont, Frederick and Denver area volunteering his time to teach his passion to others and to his own children which will never be forgotten. His last time stepping in the ring was the 2nd Annual KNOCKOUT CANCER event that took place Sept 17th 2022 with his two sons Victor and Carlitos working his corner, it was one of his most proud moments. He always cherished his coaches and the friendships he held with them, Coach Shane Swartz and his father, Coach Smitty and Coach Raul Utajara from GTG and many others who he held close to his heart.
Carlos had a huge heart, he loved his family and children very much, he was such a hard worker, always grinding working numerous jobs and making many friends along the way and making sure to keep everyone laughing and in good spirits, he enjoyed camping, fishing, singing country music, dancing, cooking and grilling, traveling with his girlfriend Maria and making his family laugh with his humor. We’ll always remember him for his infectious laugh, smile and the joy he brought to our lives. Carlos Loved Jesus Christ and his heart belonged to Christ.
He is Survived by the love of his life Maria Cruz, the mother of his children Natasha Rangel, 5 Beautiful children, Angel (Josh), Isaac, Victor, Angelica and Carlitos and his soon to be grandson J.J Arteaga. 7 Siblings, Sergio, Sandra (Carlos), Laura, Alfredo, Angelica, Eric (Shane) and Mauro (Jessica) with many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his father Francisco Nevarez. Funeral Services will be held on Monday January, 30th 2023 at Life Fellowship Of Frederick. His ashes will be spread by his girlfriend Maria in his most special places around the country.
