Obituary for Gloria Jean Knudtson
Gloria Jean (Davenport) Knudtson, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at home in Niwot, Colorado. Gloria was born October 25, 1945, to Eugene and Florence (Trosvig) Davenport in Fergus Falls, MN. She graduated from Fergus Falls high school and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Regis College. On April 12, 1969, she married David Knudtson at First Lutheran Church Fergus Falls. They lived in Michigan for ten years, where they started their family. Gloria was a member of the South Lyon Jaycettes and is a former president. In 1980 they moved to Colorado. Gloria owned her own cleaning business so she could work while actively raising their children.
Gloria and David enjoyed listening and dancing to music of all kinds, whether in high school, at home, at their wedding or the Niwot Rock-n-Rails. Avid travelers, they visited Hawaii nine times, toured the United States, Europe, and Asia. Wherever they went, they visited the local Art museums. She also was an active member of the local TOPS organization.
Gloria is survived by husband, David R. Knudtson, of Niwot, Colorado; son Daniel (Samsara), of Taipei , Taiwan; daughter, Nicole (Roy), of San Diego , CA; son, Timothy, of Niwot, CO; sister, Gail Noren (Mark), of Northfield, MN; brother, Harlan Davenport(Jennifer ), of Wilmar, MN, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Florence (Trovsig) of Davenport.
A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1318 Mapleton Ave, Boulder, CO 80304, Fr. Mark Kovacik, officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Boulder at a later date. In lieu of flowers, direct your memorials to the Alzheimer's Association ( https://www.alz.org/co ). Gloria will always be remembered for her beautiful, radiant smile.
