Obituary for Katheryn Saiz

Katheryn Saiz of Boulder, Co. passed peacefully at home on July 6, 2022 at the age of ninety-six. Katheryn was born in La Junta, Colorado on November 25, 1925. At the age of nineteen she moved to Glenwood Springs, Co. to begin work with the U.S. Forest Service. In 1949 Katheryn moved to Boulder, and married her forever partner, Fred Saiz. They grew in love until Fred’s passing in 2015. Together Fred and Kate owned Silver & Gold Barbershop. Fred being the front man behind the barber chair, while “Kate” managed all financial aspects of the business. Kate worked in Boulder for the Colorado Migrant Council, before beginning her long term career as an administrative assistant for the lead attorney at Ball Corporation’s legal division, specializing in patent law. Kate retired from Ball Corporation in the mid nineteen-eighties, she and Fred enjoyed many years of retirement together.
Fred and Kate had four daughters, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Kate was preceded in death by her husband Fred, and eldest daughter Ellen. Kate is survived by daughters Karen Decker (Scott), Marti Lynch (Barry), and Laurie Saiz Parks.
Kate’s grandchildren include Sal Peralta (Tanya, daughter Bella)
Audra Guthrie (Michael, children Jackson, Lola Grace) Caitlin McDonald ( Sean, children Clara, Clayton) Zach Decker (Kate, children Winsley, Wels) Kyle Lynch, Amy Lynch Marceaux (Jace, children Haidyn, Dax) Kelly Lynch, and Susie Lynch.
Kate had many nieces, and nephews who were an active part of her life. She is loved and missed by many. We find comfort that she has reunited with her dear Fred, siblings, and is in the presence of the Lord our God.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00 A.M. Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 1318 Mapleton Ave. Boulder, Co. Interment of Ashes will follow at Green Mountain Cemetery 290 20th St. Boulder, Co. All are welcome to attend.
