OBITUARY for Neva Huffaker

“God and I love each other!”

On March 2, 2023, Neva Huffaker passed away at the age of 83 and joined her beloved Milton in heaven.
Neva was raised on a farm in northern Alabama. She hated picking cotton in the heat, so she went to Florence State College (currently, the University of Northern Alabama) and got her bachelor’s degree in math (she was one of the few women at her college to do so) and chemistry. After graduating, Neva was hired by NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. There, she met Milton while both were working on the Saturn Rocket Program.
They were married on June 15, 1963. Neva stayed at home to raise two children and then went back into the workforce as a computer programmer at various companies, including Ball Aerospace, Precision Visuals, and Rocky Flats. Neva’s next endeavor was to earn her Master's Degree in Environmental Science from CU Denver.
She greatly enjoyed buying and selling real estate, especially when she could help others while doing so, and she enjoyed buying and selling stocks while trying to beat the market. You could usually catch her singing, whistling, or humming some old Country or Southern Gospel song.
Neva leaves behind her son, Vincent Huffaker (wife Julie), daughter, Sabrina Huffaker, and five grandchildren: Marineth Huffaker, Tilden Huffaker, Damaris Huffaker, Ashish Huffaker, and Kezia Huffaker. Also two brothers, Coy Haraway and Alton Haraway. She joins her deceased parents, Henry Lee Haraway and Ora Idelle Shelton, and sister, Doris Haraway Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you consider donating to one of Neva's favorite organizations: Christians for Biblical Equality, Forward Steps, or Pine Street Church.
